What works for me may not work for you, but that’s why you may need to try a number of different products/solutions before you find your own secret formula that works. Although I don’t discount synthetic solutions because they do work for some women, my preference is to go the natural route. I have to tell you that it always cracks me up when people write articles questioning if natural solutions really work, like the article featured in italics below. Such people act as if natural solutions for menopause were just recently discovered. Actually, it’s chemical/synthetic solutions that are the new kids on the block. Most natural remedies have been time-tested by women over the centuries. Again, just because something has been used since the beginning of time, doesn’t mean it will work for you or that it might not have some side effects or interactions with other supplements or drugs that you might be taking. This is why it’s always a good day to try one new thing at a time and to ask your doctor about any possible negative interactions.

Drenching hot flashes, mood swings that drive you batty, insomnia that has you staring at the ceiling all night and the dreaded weight gain. Yes, menopause is upon you. Your doctor may often recommend some treatments that are often helpful in alleviating some of your symptoms, but if you are looking for a more natural approach, there are several purported remedies as well. But, can menopause really be treated naturally? That said, menopause symptoms treatment can combine natural and synthetic solutions. It doesn’t have to be either/or. Yoga and meditation work great for some women because what they really need to do more than anything is just relax and gain more self-awareness. This act alone diminishes symptoms of menopause that are exacerbated by stress, anxiety and tension.

For other women, an herbal remedy for menopause does the trick to reduce hot flashes, mood swings and help them sleep at night. This is what fits with their self-concept, dietary goals and the desire to nourish their body with what is natural and comes from Mother Earth.ᅠ

You don’t need to argue about the benefits/risks of natural vs. synthetic treatment. All you have a responsibility to do is to find what works for you. Let your body be your laboratory (within limits of course—you don’t want to put yourself at risk). Use what works for you to relieve your symptoms and reclaim your life. Share what works with other women, but do not start arguments about it. If they try to, just shrug your shoulders, smile and say, “It works for me.”
